Save The Children Xmas Jumper Day

Today pupils and staff at Ashill School raised over £48.00 in aid of Save The Children. 

They wore some 'fantastically' festive jumpers and sang festive songs beautifully in the playground. We hope the local community heard their lovely singing voices on such a nice dry, sunny day.

Lindsay Gabriel, Executive Head of School retires

Dear Parents and Carers, I am sad to announce that Lindsay Gabriel has decided that now is the time for her to retire. Lindsay has worked in school leadership for 15 years and has contributed a huge amount to the profession. She has spent almost 2 years leading TRLP's Small Schools' Hub and in this time has brought the 3 schools together as an effective team enabling significant improvements in the teaching and learning for all students. She is a kind, caring leader who has supported her staff team during the unprecedented circumstances which have been thrust upon us over much of the year.  I am sure you would like to join me to thank Lindsay for her contribution to the schools and wish her a safe, healthy and happy retirement. A Message from Lindsay Gabriel

A message from Lindsay Gabriel  I would like to close this busy term by wishing you and all your families a happy healthy Christmas. Thank you for all your support in what has been a difficult year as we have tried our very best to navigate new ways to continue with as many of the ‘normal’ traditions that Christmas brings to our schools. We couldn’t get out to see the pantomime but we were not to be defeated and the children enjoyed watching ‘Robin Hood and His Socially Distanced Men’ online in school. I should also like to extend a huge thank you to all our staff who have gone above and beyond to make this busy festive period as much fun as possible for all the children. A Message from CEO Suzanne Flack

As 2020 comes to an end I think we would all agree that is has been a year like no other. Thanks go to everyone, in each of our schools, who have tirelessly worked through national lock-downs and under ever changing restrictions to provide such great teaching and learning opportunities for our youngsters. Our Christmas festivities have been rather different too but, with a little ingenuity, we have still managed to share the joy of Christmas in primary schools with all of you. Thank you so much for your continued support at this difficult time. The Christmas break is going to be unusual too but if we can all do our bit to keep safe we will return ready to start the new term. A Message from Lindsay Gabriel

It has been another busy month in School and the highlight for me I have to say was to see just how moving it was in school during our Remembrance day 2 minutes silence. The children created beautiful poppies and these have been displayed in the windows to ensure all our parents and communities can see them. We have also just held some activities in aid of Children In Need, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in. This week we held our first Teaching & Learning Committee Meeting as a small Schools Hub. Our members have been able to introduce themselves and we feel sure they will work hard to scrutinise the plans we propose to develop our schools and help us forge better relationships with our local communities as well as review the different policies we put in place.  Although the plans for Christmas this year in school will be slightly different we are pleased to announce that THE SHOW WILL GO ON! and all being well we have organised to show a real live pantomime, online, in school, for the children, in the last week of Term.   Don't forget next Friday 27th is an INSET day. A Message from Lindsay Gabriel

In the past few weeks we have been working tirelessly to ensure our small schools hub remains safe for all our pupils and our staff. There has been extra hygiene and cleaning in place and we have even installed new hand sanitiser stations outside our classrooms. I was extremely proud that Hatch Beauchamp, picked as a sample school for the whole Trust received a top rating after an inspection for COVID health and safety measures, the exact same measures in place at Ashill and Winsham. Despite a few sniffles from the usual Winter colds, our attendance remains high throughout, although I know there are a few younger children who by now will truly benefit from a week off at half term to re-charge their energy levels. By now you will have spoken to teachers about your children’s progress.
