A Message From Mrs Crocker

A message from Mrs Joanne Crocker We are  coming to the end of what has been an exciting, adventurous and occasionally challenging year.  I would like to spend some time reflecting on the positives of leading this fantastic school.  I often talk about the resilience of our children and how they do a wonderful job of living in the moment and as adults we could learn from that. I have really enjoyed observing the happiness and wonder on our children's faces having some truly wonderful experiences in school. From the tiniest children coming into Reception  and Preschool for the first time and playing with the water funnels and dinosaurs, to the oldest children hanging upside down on high ropes or the excited chat as they get ready for their bowling trip; I have observed children where they have been wholly focused on solving a tricky coding problem using the Chromebooks, absorbed in the sewing of hand puppets or joyfully composing songs about potatoes!  Sports days  and trips have been perfectly organised to allow all the children to participate and enjoy the feeling of being part of a team or to be immersed in first hand experiences; I was impressed by every child in our end of year show, Ashill really does have huge amounts of talent. I am sure you are very proud of your wonderful children - they are grasping every learning opportunity with enthusiasm and determination. As always we have mixed feelings when our year sixes leave us.  We are sad to say goodbye to Dexter, Brooke, Lex, Rosalie, James, Annabel, Xavier and Dora but know they are ready to fly and experience new adventures. We wish them every success and happiness. We are also saying goodbye to Hollie and Olivia and we hope they will settle quickly and have a wonderful time in  their new school.  There are so many people who make our small school beat with such a big heart. The staff who work tirelessly to create wonderful experiences and learning opportunities, the PTFA which allows us to provide enrichment in all areas and finally you, the parents and the carers, without your support the children would not flourish in the way they do. I would like to wish you a happy summer and look forward to welcoming you back in the Autumn Term.   Best wishes,       Joanne Crocker    Categories: 1 CategorySchool News
